Rantings of a peace and justice conservative who is searching for salvation from the madness. With frequent cultural and political references on such subjects as Sudan, global jihad, human rights, religious persecution, the harrowing of America that began in 2009,films, books, songs, and topics various and sundry.
The Tax Day Tea Parties across the United States were almost as inspiring as Susan Boyle who wowed the world with her appearance on Britain's Got Talent! Like the amazing Scottish songstress whose voice and life so resonate with the rest of us, the Tax Day Tea Parties have been mocked and ridiculed. The difference has been that once Susan opened her mouth and began to sing, the mocking stopped -- the mockers were not only astonished at what they heard, but ashamed of themselves for shallow, smug, cynicism. The ridicule stopped, and was replaced by the roar of the crowd, and raves for Susan Boyle.
Not so with the Tax Day Tea Parties. In fact, the mockery and ridicule grew exponentially when the heretofore timid, quiet, common people of the United States decided that they had had enough, and opened their mouths to protest the outrageous spending and waste by the Federal Government, the plans to transform America into a socialist cesspool, and the other outrages of the past months and years. The Leftists had not said much beforehand, believing that the Tax Day Tea Parties would not amount to much. Boy were they wrong! And they did not like it.
Leftist politicians like Nancy Airforce Two Pelosi attempted to portray the tea parties as falsely portraying themselves as a grassroots movement. "They're more like astroturf," she said. I wonder who wrote that one for her. Doubt she has a clue what astroturf is herself. The Leftist media and showbiz types were even worse. They were the usual vile, disgusting, perverted people that they always are.
The lack of professionalism and decency on the part of Leftist bozos like Anderson Cooper (who, my teenage daughter insists, looks like a grown-up baby)and the incredible bias of Susan Roegen who was doing the usual Leftist media job of "reporting",which means interjecting her own brilliant commentary and analysis and attacking the people she interviewed, was absolutely breathtaking. Now that the Left has seen the grassroots movement of normal, decent Americans (most of whom wouldn't have a clue what the perverted little monster Anderson Cooper and the loathesome Jeannine Garafalo were even talking about, since they don't spend much time in gay bathhouses)becoming mobilized, they are angry. They fear that the Tea Party movement could go viral, like Susan Boyle's You Tube video. So they are on the attack with every bit of slander, hypocrisy, deceit, and intimidation of which they are capable. But we shall see if the movement of American Tax Payers and Tea Party Protesters can continue its momentum.
Here's my first video from the Washington, DC Tax Day Tea Party. The rain was coming down pretty hard, and by the time I got back to my office, I felt as if my hands were frostbitten, it was so chilly. But a great time was had by all, anyway.
No one is objective. I learned that when the critics of those of us who were advocates for South Sudan who had condemned us for using more "noise than nuance," suddenly had no problem with noise during Sudan's second genocide.
Different president, different people group, different issue -- we are subjective in choosing that for which we will be passionate, and then we are subjective within that passion.
I've come to believe that life is a lot less complicated than I once believed it to be. Like life, faith is complex, yes, intricate, yes, but not complicated, unless I choose to see it that way. Jesus said anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. That means being willing to abandon intellectual parlor games for the clarity of the Gospel. Oh yes, and I guess like all bloggers, I'm a pretentious twit who thinks that other people are terribly interested in what she has to say.
